River’s AC Disagrees with Atiku over Romance with Amaechi

By Patricia Nwaolai

The Rivers State chapter of the Action Congress has disagreed with former Vice President and its presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar during the last April elections on the way forward in the governorship tussle in the state.

AC gubernatorial candidate in the last elections, Prince Tonye Princewill last week withdrew its case before the tribunal claiming that the move will effectively shut the political machinery of the former governor of the state, Peter Odili  out of the state’ affairs. But, Abubakar wants the state chapter of the party to continue with the case in the tribunal to its logical conclusion.

“We in AC in Rivers State and members of Tonye Princewill Campaign Organisation though felt betrayed and devastated by this new development wish to state that we are not in position to exchange words with our national leader on this as we hold him in very high esteem.”

Abubakar had condemned the withdrawal of the petition at the tribunal by Princewill in a press statement by his campaign organization but Princewill’s campaign team in the state shot back stating that their actions was dictated by the dynamics of the local politics of the state.

The party said that they still stand by the decision they reached which led to the withdrawal of the case from the tribunal, adding that they have no other state to call their own for which reason they will continue to support Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

It appears party politics in Nigeria is riddled with people who have neither principle nor honour.

After reading Mr. Prince Princewill’s soppy, weasel worded statement, I realized he was chatting rubbish. Pricewill simply lost the stomach to fight and wanted to rest his cowardly decision on someone else’ shoulders.
