A sister of former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, Christie Ibie Ibori and a female associate of the former governor Mimpe Pogson, have been charged to court. They were both granted bails by the judge.
Christie Ibie Ibori was charged on five different counts of offenses while Pogson was charged on thress counts. Details of the counts are pending.
The defendants were represented by a Queens Counsel (QC) who immediately applied for bail and was granted by the judge.
A source close to the case told The Times of Nigeria that the “charges were bare and simply a ploy at intimidation. They have tried to get them to a plea bargain so they can testify against Ibori but so far they have refused to do so.”
